The Rate of Energy Consumption equation above is used to calculate the wattage, where
- E is the energy required for the process (or the total watts needed)
- m is the mass in kilograms (kg)
- Cp is the heat in Joules/kg°C
- is the change in temperature (°C)
- t is the time in seconds
